The 2025 “Navigating Emerging and Evolving Industries” symposium focused on how technological innovation – particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and fintech – is reshaping business industries. It was organized as a series of panel discussions featuring Bay Area attorneys and industry experts. BBLJ partnered with BCLB to host practitioners from organizations like OpenAI, Webflow, and leading law firms (e.g. Kirkland & Ellis, Paul Weiss) to share insights on AI, finance, and evolving technology sectors. The event provided law students and faculty an opportunity to hear firsthand about the legal challenges and regulatory trends in these fast-changing fields, with panels addressing topics such as AI governance, fintech innovation, and the impact of technology on traditional finance. Breakfast and a roundtable lunch were provided to encourage networking among attendees and speakers.
In addition to robust discussions, the symposium discussions are expected to inform BBLJ’s publications – for example, BBLJ often publishes a symposium issue or online articles summarizing the insights (as was done in past years.
